Welcome to "Bois Forêt" in L'Abergement

the home of Marie and Dominique

Our home is in l ’Abergement witch is a tiny hamlet situated in the Burgundy Region of France. Located on the edge of a small village called Chatel Moron and set amidst the Cote Chalonnaise, a wine region in the Department of Saône et Loire. It is very close to Chalon-sur-Saône, a town famous for arts and its rich history. In fact, Chalon was the birthplace of Nicephore Niepce – the inventor of Photography.

In Chalon you will be able to enjoy the old quarter, with mediaeval streets full of character, the quays on the river Saône and the many museums. The Cote Chalonnaise is a well respected wine region of Burgundy, some 25,000 hectares of vineyards. The famous wines from this region which are known throughout the world include Givry, Rully and Mercurey. These wine producing villages and many others are all within a short drive from L’Abergement.

You will have the opportunity to walk or to drive in the beautiful countryside, to explore the local sites including a number of historic churches and experience for yourself the natural beauty of the region. After a day spent at leisure Marie and Dominique will welcome you to into their home with open arms to enjoy a hearty meal, which will consist of local specialities, expertly prepared by Marie herself.

There are three bedrooms nicely decorated and well arranged with en-suite facilities. The Chambres d’hotes is classified as three “Epis” by Gites de France.

We look forward to offering you a tranquil stay in our lovely old farm house.
